LISTENING SANTA BARBARA

In this time of climate crisis, cultural fragmentation, and widespread disconnection, Nature’s 3.8-billion-year-old wisdom can be a North Star to guide us to the solutions we need.  Together, we can work with life, with the planet’s oldest and most reliable systems; systems and principles that work, or you would not be here reading this today.

A hope-filled and growing contingent of individuals and groups in Santa Barbara have been, are, in various forms and ways, listening to the wisdom of Nature to address the challenges of our time. Toward amplifying our impact , community, and living one of Nature’s most powerful principles, collaboration, we invite you to join us in listening and exploring what a Council of Early Adapter Listeners might blossom into here in in Santa Barbara.

Listening to Nature’s wisdom is a practice and way of showing up for life.

• 🌱 It is recognizing we are part of Nature, part of an interconnected web of life that has developed principles that work or we would not be here today — and we can live in flow with these principles to support and guide us.
• ✨ It is listening with mind, body, spirit, and other senses perhaps not yet labeled; much as trees, plants, and other beings listen in ways we humans do not yet know.
• 🌱 It is knowing we each matter because we are part of an ecosystem, and that is conducive to life.
• ✨ It is living in active reciprocity, recognizing that life itself is a gift, even on the hardest days.
• 🌱 It is listening to the past, to the land beneath our feet, to our beyond human relatives, to the voices often unheard, and to the future calling us toward inclusivity, balance, thriving, joy, and love.

In all ways and always, we humbly acknowledge the Indigenous people, plants, and animals who have come before us. We pay our respect to, and live with appreciation for, the Elders who hold the traditions and memories that guide us toward a sustainable and regenerative future. We serve our children who inspire us daily, all of the children of the world, and the sacred web of life of which we are all a part.
